a great week-end!

Welcome to my blog, all friends, even if you don't speak french!!

I promised a message in english, that's why you have to translate, but I believe it is not so hard.

Last week-end, Antoine and me went to SUzhou, a beautifull town near a lake, nick-named Asian Venice.

                                 

So, we spent a  great time, in visiting gardens, little streets, rivers... A great town, but the rain made us so disappointed! The light is totally different under rain or clouds, ad under sun. So, we were not so lucky, but we made a really interesting trip. The beginning was really hard (wake up, 6 o'clock in the morning!!) to take the train. This is not a chinese traditionnal train, means it was clean, nobody smoke and nobody spit on the floor. Like our french TGV, in fact! After that, we arrived in Suzhou, and cross the town in car. Richie's friend picked us in front of the train station, untill the city center. RIchie is our chineses host, a friend working in our building, very sympathetic! In the city center, we had a walk, there are a lot of little canals, very beautifull!! more, there are a lot of little bridges, just the kind my mother loves!! Richie's grand parents invited us in a good restaurant, Suzhou's dishes, a royal lunch!!!

And after, just one idea in our mind: have a sleep!! But it is a waste of time to have a sleep with such a short time in the town, so we went to a park, the city-center 2000 years ago. There is a "temple" for a famous beauty, in fact it is a place which saw an exchange between a prisonner king and the most beautifull woman in his kingdom. But the rain was with us, and we couldn't enjoy as much as the park deserves...

                                                                                
During the evening, nothing special, we met Richie's sister, in fact his cousine, but family's links are complex in China! ANd spent the evening in an electronic game place.

the day after, walk in streets again, we saw SUzhou university, with european architecture style, and a meal with Richie's grand parents (the other) , at home, still a royal meal!!

During the afternoon, we rented a triple bicycle, and have fun!!

SuZhou has a water cinema, the screen is not in tissue, just in water, and all friday night, a film is played in this place...

And lake borders are really good for riding, if you want to avoid most of cars.

After that, we visited a temple, a new temple built last year. really impressive, but it left us a feeling of supermarket for religion...

   

And to finish the week end, The wedding!!

But I'll tell that later...
